Snow Shoeing Mt. Rainer

So here is the Mountain Man without the snow shoes..... this was up through Paradise Trail from Northwestern park entrance of Mt.Rainer. Yes, he is easy to spot in the snow.

Flint prefers the direct vertical routes as opposed to the gradual inclines. However, with our new snow shoes that have a heal shelf so we don't have to work as hard.

Karey taking it slow and steady up the hill.

This is the view behind us...yes the sky is clearing.

This was the view in front. We got lucky and were able to get a clear view of the top of Mt. Rainer (14, 410ft), we got to 7 thousand feet.

Friends from colorado came out for an overnight trip to Wasp Island in the San Juan Islands.

This is not a bad view or campsite after a day of paddling.
The campsite is for kayaker's only. We had one neighbor that we could see or hear. It was a great escape from the 'city'.

Jared was expert picture taker. He did a great job of capturing the sunset. Later that night we went for a night paddle and saw the phosphorescent! We also discovered that Jared does not have very good night navigation skills.

This is the mighty Summer, she and Flint shared the double kayak on the paddle back. As you can see we had gorgeous weather both days!
