Snow Shoeing Mt. Rainer

So here is the Mountain Man without the snow shoes..... this was up through Paradise Trail from Northwestern park entrance of Mt.Rainer. Yes, he is easy to spot in the snow.

Flint prefers the direct vertical routes as opposed to the gradual inclines. However, with our new snow shoes that have a heal shelf so we don't have to work as hard.

Karey taking it slow and steady up the hill.

This is the view behind us...yes the sky is clearing.

This was the view in front. We got lucky and were able to get a clear view of the top of Mt. Rainer (14, 410ft), we got to 7 thousand feet.

Kayak Trip, September 2007

The Crew:
(In order of appearance from left to right)
Brenda
Summer
Jared
Flint
Karey

Friends from colorado came out for an overnight trip to Wasp Island in the San Juan Islands.

This is not a bad view or campsite after a day of paddling.
The campsite is for kayaker's only. We had one neighbor that we could see or hear. It was a great escape from the 'city'.

Jared was expert picture taker. He did a great job of capturing the sunset. Later that night we went for a night paddle and saw the phosphorescent! We also discovered that Jared does not have very good night navigation skills.

This is the mighty Summer, she and Flint shared the double kayak on the paddle back. As you can see we had gorgeous weather both days!

Outdoor fun

Karey's Kayak purchased in Alaska.

My mad skills as a Canopy Guide in Alaska.
Yes, this is what I got paid to do all day!

Visited Adam in Flagstaff , AZ and saw the Grand Canyon for the second time in my life. It definitely leaves one with a overwhelming sense of Awe.

My first hiking trip in Washington with Flint.
It definitely showed its beauty right from the beginning.

Snowshoeing in Washington, will soon become a regular winter recreation. Snow here is very wet, different than the lighter champagne powder we can get in Colorado.

(Yes, I know its sideways..I haven't mastered posting, I'll get better.)

This was our luxury sailing vessel. We had a the first room on the upper deck!

Clear turquoise waters!

Katie in cruising mode.

Sun goddesses, we snorkeled, scuba dove, and rafted all in this beautiful country.

London,England

Yes, they let us into Wimbledon! We did pay them in all fairness.

James, Katie and Karey sitting fourth row on Court 2! You can't leave your seat to go to the loo during the match or else they give it away to others queuing to watch the match.

Yes, that is Rafal Nadal the 2007 Wimbledon Men's Champion. We saw him live, three hours, five matches!

Katie and I having the official drink of Wimbledon, PiMMS and tea!

After Wimbledon we met up with our old New Zealand Backpacker buddies, Ben and Danny. Good times and great memories.

Backpacking in Western Washington

Karey and Flint in the Wenachee Winderness in Western Washington.

We hiked in 5 miles to our meadow campsite. Set up camp than began a 3mile trip to Navaho Mountain, 7,223ft. (Those back in Colorado, don't laugh).

Love that wild paint brush.
Alpine lakes in Washington. All pictures are courtesy of Karey's camera and Flint's artistic eye.
